The Futurist Expands Global Reach Through New OD Media Distribution Partnership
Amazon Prime Video documentary series now distributed across 25+ countries and 45+ OTT platforms worldwide
The Futurist, the Amazon Prime Video documentary series hosted and executive produced by globally recognized futurist Ian Khan, has signed a new distribution agreement with OD Media — Amazon’s largest content aggregator — significantly expanding the series’ global footprint across 25+ countries and 45+ OTT platforms worldwide.
The agreement marks a major milestone for the series, which explores how emerging technology is reshaping industries, economies, and human civilization through in-depth interviews with global technology leaders, scientists, policymakers, and innovators.
Under the new partnership, The Futurist will be distributed through OD Media’s extensive platform network in addition to its existing presence on Amazon Prime Video, reaching audiences across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
Accelerated Production Pipeline
To meet expanded platform demand, The Futurist is launching a fast-track production pipeline with an accelerated timeline: new episodes will be filmed in May–June 2026 and streaming globally by September–October 2026 — taking organizations from concept to global audience in under five months.

As part of the accelerated pipeline, The Futurist is offering a limited Founding Partner program — six production slots at preferential investment levels for organizations that commit during the Q2 build window. Founding Partners receive full documentary production, executive interview segments, global distribution, licensed marketing assets, and co-branded launch support.
Season 2 & Upcoming Productions
Season 2 of The Futurist is already in production, comprising 13 episodes including The Futurist: Water, a three-part special featuring Richard Gere, set to begin streaming in May 2026. The series continues to expand its coverage across healthcare innovation, artificial intelligence, robotics, food systems, transportation, and organizational transformation.
Previous documentary productions under Khan’s direction include Blockchain City featuring Imogen Heap, AI: The Next Frontier, The Digital Kingdom, and The Bitcoin Dilemma, establishing a body of work that bridges documentary journalism with technology intelligence.
